The Candle (Burning Bright)

We were made to burn bright,

But fall followed close,

A wind swept over our light,

A cold chill surrounded.

I am Your candle, burning for new life.

You reignite the soul,

A flame burns again,

Slowly we feel more whole,

Yet some stay in the dark.

I am your candle, burning endless love.

Lord, let our light shine far,

Glory in Your name,

Make us like a shining star,

In hope of making sparks.

I am your candle, burning in the truth.

Let Your aroma flow,

A scent of comfort,

And although the wax burns slow,

Change never eludes You.

I am your candle, burning in mercy.

Over us, You take reign,

Sins, flaws, melt away,

As does all my past pain,

You expose true beauty.

I am your candle, burning desire.

We are left bare, naked,

Unashamed display,

The reason we're created,

To commune with You, God.

I am your candle, burning to the end.
