An Advent Poem

Hope comes through knowledge of Christ, from the birth of our saviour.

Hope is in our God’s promise, His truth, Jesus will return.

Hope is in a God who saves, in the body, Christ Jesus.

Hope comes with His presence felt, Emmanuel - God with us.

Hope is in manifesting, a visible guide for us.

Hope is the encouragement, God showing up when we’re weak.

Peace is in the faith we have, safe from the grasp of hatred.

Peace comes within our closeness, the Word dwelling among us.

Peace from true sacrifice, bypassing the need for power.

Peace is proclaiming His name, healing from our brokenness.

Peace comes through His supplement, satisfies hunger and thirst.

Peace knows not of prejudice, the fountain of life He gives.

Joy aims to help pain, saving the unanticipated.

Joy does not promise safety, but comfort in His presence.

Joy comes through proclamation, from goodness He gave to earth.

Joy breaks from normal culture, kind, open and full of love.

Joy is a place for us, inviting all to His table.

Joy doesn’t condemn others, it spreads news of salvation.

Love puts others first, in the drought, we learn to share our wealth.

Love is not exclusive, it values the minorities.

Love helps us collaborate, bringing passion together.

Love abandons self glory, picking up our cross daily,

Love doesn’t have to forget, gladly forgive with mercy.

Love is the great commission, walk the path, share the Gospel.

Hope:

Jesus, You came and You gave,

Needing nothing in return.

Peace:

Jesus, the King we needed,

Living a true servant's life.

Joy:

Jesus, humble in Your ways,

A redemptive sacrifice.

Love:

Jesus, given to this world,

Letting us be born again.
