Christ in Me - Poetry

Loneliness fills the boat, A sense of dread sinks in, No land for miles, The sky, an empty void. Then comes a single cloud, A sign of the heavens, Yet it floats on by, Take me with you cloud! Please! The sun begins to set, Darkness is coming quick, But stars shine above, Reflecting off water. Something from long ago, A provision set up, Formed years apart, And yet they shine for me. I awake the next day, Still stuck, trapped and static, But soon to be worse, A storm chases me down. My strength leaves my body, The devil whispers, but… The stars are a sign, I begin to praise You. The waves try to take me, They try to steal me, Grasp me tight my Lord, I put my trust in You. The waves grow in anger, They aim to distract me, I cling to your Word I rest in Your promise. Help comes when I need it, You calm me in the storm, Jesus, my lighthouse, You save me from the dark. Father, my life jacket, To float in rising tides, The Spirit - compass, You guide me through my life. I know the whole trut...

Lord, Spring forth well water, Fill my cup with Your grace, Let it overflow, Always everlasting. Lift my great burden, Come let my shackles break, Freedom from my sin, By your great sacrifice. Now I see the truth, In Your fruitful meadows, The golden fields, A season of new life. You water the ground, You shine in the valley, You care for nature, And clothe me in splendor.

You are the light, A blessing from above, You hold me close, An unbroken grasp. You move mountains, Even shake the depths, Sounds of thunder, Clouds break apart. Truth is freedom, Love forever flowing, Rain down on us, Creating clean hearts. Help me to stand, Without You I cannot, I lean on You, Mighty cornerstone. Be my portion, Until forevermore, Not just today, Be my daily bread.

It is all written, To happen as told, Step in to His plan, Much blessing awaits. The grass, it dances, As the wind blows North, A coming season, With new life and growth. The Kingdom, it waits, Soon, to be here, The rain can’t be stopped, It falls from heaven. Flowers will shoot up, Meeting occasion, A planting of seeds, Vital to share grace. The wind will carry, Pollination starts, Life in abundance, A meadow of love. Reaping what is sown, The Lord has harvest, So give yourself up, To our God, Most High. Ready or not, watch, Don’t stumble too far, Our path, laid to guide, Instruct us, we pray. We choose to follow, Fruitful in our ways, We choose love and light, Chase away the dark. Just like Elijah, We will climb mountains, Search the horizon, See, He is coming. Dedicated to Kevin and Seonaid. Whose friendship flourishes in the coming light.  They, who motivate and strengthen me, a true gift from God - eternal blessing to sustain me in life.

My dear bride groom, As You prepare our banquet, I ask, take charge of my house, Run it with Your grace. I lovingly display, These windows for Your judgement, Let Your mercy shine through them, That they may be cleansed. I submit to Your light, Renew my heart to softness, Smooth over the sharp edges, So it absorbs hate. I am but a servant, I take You, as my only God, A declaration to hold, from this day forward. I am devoted to You, for the better or the worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and health. You have me to hold You,  To cherish You when I’m blessed, To praise You in the valley, Death cannot part us.

It is said, ‘Do not test the Lord your God,’ He is the God of every living thing, He formed the world and crafted the Heavens, He brings rain, yet can also bring fire. God brought a drought that lasted three years, Commanded His prophet, flee to safety, A stream for water, raven's gathered food, God is a God who provides daily bread. God can bring about endless abundance, God will sustain the needs of His servants, Glory be to God, Father of all light, Redeemer of our lost tormented souls. His stories are endless, His deeds are good, His love for us is never running dry, His source of grace flows from His huge heart, He will never forsake righteous people. Elijah trusted the All-Powerful, He stood before king Ahab fearlessly, He confirmed Ahab as the cause of drought, He knew God would protect Him, so stood firm. Now let us see the one true God who reigns, Test your “God,” for He will never answer, Baal does not respond, pray louder to Him. Baal does not come, He must be too busy. ...
